| Barbara Philip MW Barbara Philip MW was the first Western Canadian to achieve the Master of Wine designation and is the only female MW in the country. She is currently a Portfolio Manager for the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB), where she is responsible for the European wine selections in BC Liquor Stores. Through Barbariain Wine Consulting, Barb works as an international presenter, journalist and judge. In addition to lecturing across the United States, Europe and Canada, Barbara has judged for the VanMag Wine Awards, The Dallas Morning News Wine Competition and the Decanter World Wine Awards in London. She is a regular contributor to Taste magazine and is a bi-weekly columnist on CBC Radio One’s ‘On The Coast’. |
| Iain Philip Iain Philip is the Senior Wine Instructor at the Art Institute in Vancouver where he teaches levels 2, 3 and 4 of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) programs. In the course of a year, he teaches over 200 students that range from consumers to importers and retail buyers. Iain achieved the WSET diploma in 2001 and regularly consults for companies wanting to incorporate the WSET curriculum into their staff training. In addition to formal training, Iain also does seminars and tastings for private and corporate clients outside the wine industry. |
